Located just five minutes from The Maritime Hotel is the superb Bantry Bay Golf Club. An 18 hole Championship Course, part cliff-top, part lake shore, its proximity to the Gulf Stream makes it playable all year round. If you have a large group, our Golf Co-ordinator can avail of special rates depending on group size, with the Club.
Walk Sheep’s Head Way
Voted as the “Best Walk in Ireland” by Country Walking Magazine and winner of a Waterford Crystal Walker Award, there is no walk to compare! With 55 miles of varying routes to choose from, Sheep’s Head caters for both the casual stroller and the more serious hiker. With varying terrains and breathtaking scenery, this is one not to be missed!
West Cork Garden Trail (11th - 26th June 2011)
West Cork Garden Trail offers 19 spectacular Gardens in total, 6 of which are located just a short distance from Bantry. They showcase some of the most eclectic mix of gardens you are every likely to see. Sample the true delights of a traditional Irish market. 'Bantry Fair Day' is traditionally held on the first Friday of every month in Wolfe Tone Square and extends to the surrounding streets. The monthly market has an eclectic mix where you can buy everything from gourmet smoked chicken, artisan cheeses, squawking geese – or a fireplace! Highlights are too numerous to mention!
